Our invitation to take part in a hound hunt was answered with a big “YES!” Here is the traditional glass of port while the hounds are gathered. Our landlord Charles Cotrell-Dormer was in attendance, being in charge of many hunts in his time. There they are! We followed them on foot for a few hours as they chased hares and an occasional deer. What an experience! We were soooo cold.So we stopped by our favorite on the way home to warm up.We caught a flight the next day to Munich. Mark had a conference in Germany, so I tagged along! After suffering at the army base in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (it was very relaxing and lovely to explore), he finished his course and we rented a car. Our little Airbnb in Salzburg was so fun! We made day trips to Hallstatt, ZellAmZee, and had a brief stop in Berchtesgaden. More photos below, for your viewing pleasure. ☺️View from our resort while Mark was learning about cool dentistry things. So fun to go along!Salzburg was incredible. We were there for the beautiful turning of the leaves. Fortress Hohensalzburg is up on the hill in the center of the photo. Our Airbnb was on the other side of that, at its base. We could walk over the hill into old town.Street vendors filled the plaza. This one was a favorite. In the background (can’t see it very well) is one location where the Von Trapp family performed. We took a boat out to see a church on an island nestled within the alps.St. BartolemewI love this picture of us! Love my guy.Austrians know how to stack wood. The British need lessons.Hallstatt – the most picturesque place I’ve ever been.We also had our first family to dinner in our home! What a joy to host!We also take lots of walks to see the cows, who are a continuous source of entertainment. The bulls are always looking aggressive and mean – not to mention huge. Thanks for following along! Love from us and Big Bad Bernard.
